Wantagh Elementary Fights Cancer with Hearts and Shirts of Gold
Students and staff at Wantagh Elementary School showed their support for the fight against pediatric cancer by wearing gold on Sept. 19.
September is designated as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, bringing understanding to rare but serious illnesses that impact approximately 15,000 newly diagnosed kids each year. While medical advances have greatly increased survival rates, awareness campaigns like at Wantagh Elementary School remind everyone that there is still much more progress to make in curing and preventing cancer.
Wantagh Elementary School students did their part to raise awareness, as they incorporated gold, yellow and neon green into their attire.
